Approach

I combine trial advocacy with technical sophistication and financial analysis. I’ve written custom software to investigate evidence, negotiated electronic discovery protocols in complex litigation, and passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam. I use those skills to uncover what happened, make a persuasive case for the value of a claim, and prepare for trial.

Sophisticated defendants often have the evidence needed to prove a case. They often try to avoid disclosing that evidence by complaining it is too costly or difficult to produce. And most plaintiffs’ attorneys lack the technical sophistication to cut through those arguments. I am not most plaintiffs’ attorneys.

I’ve negotiated electronic discovery protocols in complex coordinated litigation. I’ve written custom software to organize and search unstructured archives. And I’ve prepared analyses that persuaded judges that defendants failed to conduct a “reasonable search and diligent inquiry,” and should be sanctioned for it. My investigative approach isn’t limited to electronic sources, but it also isn’t limited by them.

I’ve also built tools that make complex data understandable to judges and juries. In a first-of-its-kind jury trial, I created a tool showing not just where an Uber driver was, but how he was—or wasn’t—using his phone at the time of an assault. I use AI when it makes sense to collect evidence, develop the record, and prepare cases efficiently. That lets me take on much larger, better-resourced defendants.

I’ve passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam. That training gives me a much stronger foundation for valuing claims—and making a persuasive case for their value—than the unanchored chest-thumping typical of most attorneys.

And I’m not afraid to try cases. I’ve first-chaired disputes that resulted in multimillion-dollar awards. This practice started because I wanted to take a case to trial over my firm’s wishes. My client trusted me, and after I quit he agreed to come with me. Just one week later, the case settled for millions more because of my credible—and sincere—threat to go to trial. The difference was genuinely life-changing for my client.

If you’ve been hurt—preferably by someone rich, or at least someone on the job—or if you’re an attorney with a case involving complex technical, factual, or legal issues and collectible defendants, I’d love to help. Send me an email or give me a call, and we can talk about it.
